DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Commissioner Love <br />reporting on an informative session at Texas Municipal <br />League. <br />8 <br />TAX PROPOSAL FOR THIS STATE LEGISLATURE - Commissioner <br />Cline stated the need for vigorous opposition to the <br />proposed legislature giving the County the appraisal <br />authority for all taxing agencies. Would like a delegation <br />to attend-the meeting set for December 16, 1976, to voice <br />our strong disapproval on this measure. <br />• TEXAS POLICE ASSOCIATION - Chief H. F. Freeman gave short <br />report on the Association meetings in Dallas in regard to <br />new bills in the crime fighting field. Chief Freeman <br />reported the Association was backing Governor Briscoe's <br />crime fighting legislation. <br />COUNTY WATER TAP FROM 8TH STREET TO THE COUNTY LAND FILL - <br />Mr. Shep-herd reported the contractor had used 8 inch line <br />narrowing down to 4 inch line. It was specified at the <br />May 16, 1976 Commission meeting that only 8 inch line be <br />used. Commissioner Kibodeaux will get in contact with <br />Mr. Doss with the County to resolve the matter. <br />BAYSHORE MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT - Mr. Johnny Busch, <br />wit Busc Hutc ison Engineers, reporting on the agreement <br />of the City of L a Porte with Bayshore Municipal Utility <br />District allowing the district to purchase water on an <br />emergency basis. Commissioner Cline will attend a meeting <br />with Bayshore Municipal Utility District Council on <br />December 1, 1976. <br />• <br />
