JAEKLE <br />VICE PRESIDENT -ENGINEERING AND RESEARCH <br />City of La Porte <br />Post Office Box 1115 <br />La Porte, Texas 77571 <br />Gentlemen: <br />This letter is to confirm the understandings of Southern <br />Pacific Transportation Company ("Railroad") and City of La <br />Porte ("City") with respect to the proposed extension of the <br />City's.eight (8) inch water and sanitary sewer pipelines to <br />serve Railroad's Strang Yard. <br />City has stated that said facilities can be extended north <br />on 16th Avenue and then west on Lomax School Road to this Company's <br />Strang Yard property. The proposed extension is shown on the <br />attached Railroad map of its Galveston Branch right of way. <br />• The estimated cost of construction, including engineering and <br />supervision, is One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000). Rail- <br />road -shall deposit with City the sum of Seventy Thousand Dollars <br />($70,000), of which a total of Fifty-two Thousand Dollars ($52,000) <br />is to be refunded to Railroad over a ten (10) year period.. Railroad <br />shall contribute the remaining Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($18,000) <br />as its share of the cost. <br />City agrees to undertake installation of said sewer and water <br />line extensions as soon as practicable after labor and materials <br />are available, and to thereafter diligently prosecute same to <br />conclusion. <br />If the above is in accordance with your understandings and <br />agreements, please so indicate on the attached copy of this letter <br />and return the same to me. <br />Accepted and Agreed to on <br />this day of , <br />• 1977. <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />By <br />Very truly yours, <br />SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION <br />COMP <br />By <br />
