w 0 <br />r <br />VcIumE 1 o <br />• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-18 <br />CLEAR CREEK BRIDGE <br />WHEREAS, the bridge on State Highway 146 over Clear Creek between Kemah and <br />Seabrook is only two lanes with a four -lane highway on either side of <br />said bridge; and <br />WHEREAS, the lift span is continuously opening on weekends and holidays because <br />of numerous sail boats going in and out of Clear Lake; and <br />WHEREAS, the lift span in said bridge causes traffic jams, air pollution problems, <br />and serious adverse effect to the business life of the City of Seabrook. - <br />and <br />WHEREAS, subsidence in the Harris County area is causing said bridge to be lower <br />each year; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEABROOK, TEXAS: <br />THAT, the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation be urged to <br />allocate the necessary funds at the earliest possible time fir a fixed <br />span high bridge on State Highway 146 crossing Clear Creek; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to all members <br />of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, Governor <br />Dolph Briscoe, Lieutenant Governor Bill Hobby and all Legislators from <br />this area. <br />AND IT IS SO ORDERED. <br />PASSED and APPROVED this day of 1977. <br />• ATTEST: <br />Roselle S.
