<br />election for mayor therein. If a majority of
<br />the qualified �oter•s resident in any such city,

<br />nuniber, then the mayor shall order all election
<br />as above provided upon the presentation to tiinl
<br />of a petition signed by three -fourths of the res-
<br />ident voters of such city, town, or village.
<br />Eligible Voters; Results; Declaration of Abolition
<br />Sec. 3. AlI persons who are legally quali-
<br />fied resident voters of the city, town, or village
<br />Where such election is to be held shall be enti-
<br />tled to vote at such election. If a majority of
<br />such voters voting at such election shall vote
<br />to abolish such corporation, the mayor shall
<br />declare such corporation abolished and certify
<br />such fact to the commissioners court of the
<br />county. Such commissioners court shall enter
<br />said order upon its minutes, and said corpora-
<br />tion shall cease to exist.
<br />Order; Conduct and Canvass of Election by Mayor;
<br />Laws Governing Election
<br />Sec. 4. The election as herein provided
<br />shall be ordered, conducted and canvassed by
<br />the mayor as in the case of the incorporation
<br />Of such city, town, or village, except that the
<br />mayor shall perform all acts performable in
<br />the case of incorporation by the county judge.
<br />Except as other«-ise specifically provided here-
<br />in, such election shall be governed by the laws
<br />of the State of Texas applicable generally to
<br />elections in incorporated cities.
