McDONALD, JR., EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />0i <br />Z <br />W <br />Dear Local Official: <br />Since 1972 the Texas Department of Community Affairs has been. <br />administering federal funds from the Intergovernmental Person- <br />nel Act (IPA) of 1970 to assist local governments in strenotheninn <br />a <br />their personnel systems and functions. This year the United States <br />Civil Service Commission will allocate approximately $456,500 to he <br />W <br />contracted to cities and counties in Texas to enable them to strengthen <br />Q <br />or develon their personnel systems. On behalf of the Department, I <br />'apply <br />would like to invite you to for funds under this Act. If you so <br />N <br />wish to apply, you must submit a letter of intent to the Personnel <br />I'lanagement and Training Division by April 28, 1978. <br />undertaken have included such projects as recruitment policy, <br />XQActivities <br />written nersonnel policy, job classification, .lob description, emplouee <br />W <br />pay plan, staff training, test validation, selection nolicv, emolovee <br />manual and performance evaluations. <br />The Personnel Management and Training Division is coordinating and <br />administering grants and applications for IPA funds.
