• • <br />Material Produced for rlaintenance Requisition. T!ie limestone <br />rock asphalt aggregate grading and flux content o£ the mi:{ture <br />• shall be within the limits specified. The designar_ed ~;radin~ and <br />flux content shall be selected from the first shipment for material <br />on each shiprent or partial shipment wlierc requested by the City, <br />and the mixture produced shall conforrz to this cJesi;;nated f;radin~; <br />and flux content throughout each shipr;et:t or parti~il shipment, <br />respectively, A~1t111I1 the tolerances specified above. <br />Water Content. If the rock asphalt mi::tt:re is prep<<red at sot::e <br />central point a;id shipped to the ~.rork, welter may l:e added to prevent <br />sitting-up in transit. If water is added, the total water so added <br />shall not exceed 4 percent by Freight and shall be administered to <br />the mixture through an approved-spray bar. If the rock asphalt <br />;,lixture is prepared on or adjacent to the project, the addition of <br />water will not be permitted unless authorized by the City. The <br />amou.~it of water that may be added shall be as designated by t'.ie City <br />but shall not exceed 4 percent by weight. In order to insure <br />uniformity of the rock asphalt mixture as suitable measuring device, <br />subject to approval of the City, shall be used to accurately measure <br />the amount of water to be imcorporated into each batch. All ~•~ater <br />in the mixture in excess of 4 percent by weight at the ti~~e of <br />weighing the mixture on the payment. The method of determining, flee <br />tonnage of mixture for payment. Tlie method of determining the <br />water content of the mixture shall be in accordance with Test <br />Method Tex-21?-F. The water content shall be measured on <br />representative samples, each representing; approximately 200 tons. <br />Not less than one sample shall he taken on eacl-i day's run. <br />• Physical Properties of the ilixture.
