• I~ LJ ORDINANCE N0. 1236 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF CRESCENT DRIVE, IN CRESCENT SHORES SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owners of all of the property abutting hereinafter described portion o?: Crescent Drive, in Crescent Shores Subdivision in the City of La Porte, to vacate, abandon, and permanently close that portion of Crescent Drive; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Forte has determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare that . the hereinafter described portion of Crescent Drive is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that the closing of the hereinafter described portion of Crescent Drive is for the protection of the public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described portion of said Crescent Drive should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13, Title 28, Art. 1175, of the Revised Civil Statues of the State • of Texas, 1925, the hereinafter described portion of Crescent Drive is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by the City of La Porte, to-wit: The West one-half (W.1/2) of that portion of Crescent Drive, in rescent Shores jui~- division, according to the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume 8, Page 58, of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas, and being the West one-half (W.1/2) of that • portion of Crescent Drive situated between Block One (1) and Block Two (2) of Crescent Shores Subdivision, and between the North line of said subdivision, and the North right-of-way line of Edgewood Avenue, extended Easterly.
