e e e ORDINANCE NO. 1242 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF TEXAS AVENUE: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owners of all of the property abutting the hereinafter described portion of Texas Avenue, in the City of La Porte, to vacate, abandon, and permanently e close that portion of Texas Avenue: and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare that the hereinafter described portion of Texas Avenue is not suita- ble, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that the closing of the hereinafter described portion of Texas Avenue is for the protection of the public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described portion of said Texas Avenue should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: e Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13, Title 28, Art. 1175,.of the Revised Civil Statues of the Sta te of Texas, 1925, the hereinafter described portion of Texas Avenue is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by the City of La Porte, to-wit: That portion of Texas Avenue between the south right-of-way line of South "K" Street and the notth right-of-way line of South "L" Street, and lying and being situated between Blocks Eleven Hundred Twenty (1120) and Eleven Hundred Twenty-two (1122), TOWN OF OF LA PORTE, Harris County, Texas: SUBJECT TO: The City of La Porte expressly retains a drainage easement, 16 feet wide, across that portion of Texas Avenue described by metes and bounds on Exhibit "A" attached e hereto, incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for all purposes.
