Permission has been obtained from Harris <br />County Commissioners Court to remove 10,000 cubic yards of material from <br />the Harris County Landfill for this purpose, at no cost, <br /> The contractor for the new Public Works facility wants to start as <br />soon as possible, His first priority will be to lime stabilize the en- <br />tire site before any actual construction begins, For this reason, the <br />site needs to be brought up to grade now, <br /> However, due to the deadline of the Federal Flood project, primari- <br />~~~eet work, our five dump trucks are involved in finishing this pro- <br />J ct, <br /> For these reasons, I have asked for price quotation from Travis <br />Hardy Trucking of Baycliff, Less Barker of Houston, & Daniels Trucking <br />of La Porte, Daniels Trucking has three trucks and can not provide the <br />hauling service for us as quickly as we need the job completed, Daniels <br />quote is 15 cubic yard load $25, 18 cubic yard load $27, and loading 55~ <br />per cubic yard. Barker Trucking wants to do the hauling for $27 an hour, <br />The hourly rate is not advantagious to the City over the long run, There <br />are too many problems with supervision of working hours, Hardy Trucking <br />quoted a price per load of ($20.00) twenty dollars and 50~ per cubic yard <br />for loading. Estimated Cost of hauling and loading is $20,000, I request <br />that we declare this an emergency and award the work to Hardy Trucking of <br />Baycliff, <br />e~ <br />- <br />
