• <br />• Minutes, Joint Public Hearing and Regular Meeting, <br />July 15, 1981, Page 14 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Malone to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 780-PPP as read. Seconded by Councilperson Skelton. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered a request for variance by Jesse Stovall <br />to construct a barn on his property in Lomax. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Faris to grant the variance <br />in compliance with P & Z's recommendation (barn to be located <br />some 300 feet from front property line and centered. on property <br />between east and west property line Seconded by Council- <br />person Simons. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered a request for. variance by Ronald C. Rod- <br />riguez, 9942 Rocky Hollow Road. A motion was made by Council- <br />person Malone to deny the variance. Seconded by Councilperson <br />Longley. Lindsay Pfeiffer .reminded Council that a detached <br />building may be built within 3 to 5 feet of a utility easement. <br />The motion was defeated, 3 ayes and 5 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris <br />Nays: Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to grant the variance <br />to construct a room on the rear of Mr. Rodriguez's house at <br />9942 Rocky Hollow Road. Seconded. by Councilperson Gay. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Malone to table the request <br />for variance for further study. Seconded by Councilperson <br />Longley. <br />Malone reminded the Mayor a motion to table takes precedence. <br />The motion was defeated, 3 ayes and 5 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris <br />Nays: Councilpersons Simons., Gay, Skelton, Westergren and <br />Mayor Meza <br />Mayor Meza called for a vote on Councilperson Skelton's motion, <br />and Councilperson Gay seconded. The motion to grant the vari- <br />ance carried, 5 ayes and 3 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and <br />Mayor Meza <br />Nays: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris <br />
