• • <br />4. ORK PROGRAM <br />°h <br />Task I - Waste Quantity <br />a. Review existing data, reports, etc. in the study area to determine <br />current waste quantities being collected by the participating <br />entities. <br />b. Determine centroids of waste generation within the study area. <br />c. Review population projections of the participating entities and prepare <br />projections of waste generation and waste generation centroids for the <br />next 20 years. <br />d. Determine total waste capacity needed to satisfy the disposal <br />requirements of the participating entities for the next 20 years. <br />Task II - Transportation Costs <br />a. Review existing records from the Cities and augment with information <br />from the consultant's files to determine a capital cost and a cost for <br />the operation and maintenance of collection vehicles (including labor) <br />used to transport solid waste. <br />b. Develop cost estimates (capital as well as operation and maintenance) <br />• for transfer vehicles that may be used to transport solid waste. <br />c. Determine current total costs for the transportation of solid waste to <br />the disposal facilities currently being used by each of the entities. <br />d. Examine the existing roadway network and future roadway construction to <br />determine potential links for transportation of solid waste. Identify <br />restrictions (i.e. ship channel, weight restrictions, etc.) to the <br />movement of trucks along certain transportation links. <br />e. Obtain, if available, a time and distance matrix of the roadways in the <br />area to use in the transportation cost economic analysis to be <br />performed. <br />.ask III - Existing Disposal Activities <br />a. Identify disposal alternatives and sites currently being used by the <br />participating entities. <br />b. Determine remaining site life, restrictions and tipping fees for each <br />of the identified sites. <br />c. Investigate the applicability of expansion of these identified sites. <br /> <br />~= <br />
