• <br />4.0 OPERATIONAL WORK PLAN <br />4.1 Overview <br /> <br />Transportation services will be delivered to a ridership of <br />appro.Yitnately 800 persons monthly on a demand response - sub- <br />scription basis. The resident requesting service must tele- <br />phone the Dispatch Office at least twenty-four (24) hours be- <br />fore actual appointment or trip tune. The dispatcher will <br />schedule pick-up by grouping sunilar times, destinations, lo- <br />cales and adjacent pick-up areas. The vans will pick-up resi- <br />dents at their home, transport them on a scheduled basis and <br />pick-up for return by the same method. Emergency situations <br />which fall outside of the regular 24-hour notice, demand re- <br />sponse basis will be treated on a case-by-case basis. <br />4.2 Operations <br />Transportation Services will be provided for only La Porte low- <br />income, elderly residents. The specific service area will be <br />mutually defined between the City of La Porte and BCDI. Routes <br />will be listed and displayed daily at the Dispatch Office and <br />compiled in the most efficient configuration to serve the re- <br />quested calls. Rider eligibility will primarily be within OMB <br />low-income guidelines with emphasis on persons over 60 years of <br />age and any other criteria established by the City of La Porte. <br />Trip response will be predominately confined to M,edicial facili- <br />ties, social service agencies, pharmacies, and shopping areas. <br />Trips to enrichment/cultural activities will also be provided on <br />a planned basis. <br />~-9 <br />
