Ray - Purchasing Agent <br />• <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br />DECEMBER 6, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: Sealed Bid ~~0063: Chemicals <br />• <br />• <br />ati~de Services <br />ecticides, and Janitorial Supplies <br />Advertised, sealed bid;~~0063`~for the City of La Porte nual Chemical and <br />Janitorial supply agreement were opened and read in City Council Chambers <br />December 3, 1984 at 4 p.m. Bid invitations were mailed to twelve area <br />chemical companies with the following seven returning bids; (1) Airwick <br />Professional Products, (2) Morse Wholesale, (3) Van Waters and Rogers, (4) <br />Lone Star Brush and Chemical, (5) Allstates Chemical Co., (6) Industrial <br />Chemical Cleaner, and (7) Zep Manufacturing. <br />Vendors submitted pricing on twenty-nine (29) separate line items, most of <br />which are inventory items used by City of La Porte personnel for in-house <br />cleaning operations. Pricing compares favorably with prices under the current <br />contract with products ranging from 5% less than current prices to increases <br />of 5% on other items. <br />Recommendations by line item are shown below, all of which are low bid meeting <br />specifications: <br />1. Morse Wholesale: Items ~~1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,14,16,17,19,20,21,26,29. <br />(All items low bid) <br />2. Van Waters and Rogers: Item ~~24 (Low Bid) <br />3. Lone Star Bush and Chemical: Items X62,9,13,15,18,22,27,28 (All items low bid) <br />4. Industrial Chemical Cleaner: Items 6623,24 (All items low bid) <br />I hereby recommend that the City of La Porte execute one-year supply agreements <br />with the aforementioned vendors for specified supplies on the basis of low bid <br />meeting specifications.
