<br />THE STATE OF TEXAS § <br />COUNTY OF HARRIS <br /> <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br />THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT made and entered into on this the <br />day of , 1987, by and between PORT OF HOUSTON <br />AUTHORITY, hereinafter called "PORT", and CITY OF LA PORTE, a Texas <br />Municipal Corporation, hereinafter called "CONTRACTOR", and containing <br />all terms of the agreement between said parties. <br />W I T N E S S E T H: <br />That Contractor agrees, as an independent contractor, at its own <br />cost and expense, to furnish Emergency Medica <br />of Port, in compliance with the terms and <br />agreements hereinafter set forth; provided, <br />agrees and promises to pay .Contractor SIX <br />per month, in advance, for such services. <br />space for housing ambulances and personnel. <br />.l Service ( EMS ) on premises <br />conditions, covenants and <br />however, that Port hereby <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($600.00) <br />Contractor will provide <br />I. <br />AMBULANCES PROVIDED <br />''i <br />As part of the consideration expressed herein, Contractor agrees <br />to furnish ambulances and the personnel to man those ambulances, said <br />Emergency Medical Service being available on a constant basis. Con- <br />tractor shall regularly maintain said ambulance units, keep them in <br />good working condition at all times, normal wear: accepted. Contractor <br />shall further keep in full force and effect, collision and liability <br />insurance on said ambulances in accordance with the provisions of <br />paragraph IX infra. Port shall be named as an additional insured on <br />said policies. <br />II. <br />EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS <br />Contractor covenants and agrees to furnish ambulance service in <br />compliance with th'e following requirements: <br />~. <br />(1) Contractor shall have and maintain at least two (2) ambu- <br />lances and crews available twenty-four (24) hours daily for <br />emergency dispatch, in conformity with the standards set <br />
