SMITH epartment: POLICE <br />X Report <br />Resolution <br />Ordinance <br />Exhibits: <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />I am recommending that we accept the sealed bid ~~0222 package <br />from Knapp Chevrolet on two (2) police sedans. Knapp was low <br />bidder of the two bids returned. Their bid was $12,499.00 per <br />car. <br />Cost of two (2) vehicles, would be $24,998.00. This amount <br />is $2,198.00 more than the budgeted amount of $22,800.00 in Motor <br />Pool Replacement Fund. I am requesting $2,198.00 be transferred <br />from Motor Pool Contingency, Budget ~~009 600 600 650, to Budget ~~ <br />009 502 502 852 Motor Pool Replacement Fund. <br />Our other alternatives are (1) to reject all bids and <br />rebid. After further discussion with automobile dealers, it was <br />determined that this would not produce a reduction in bid price. <br />(2). purchase vehicles through HGAC at $21,601.19 for Dodge <br />Diplomats. These cars are not acceptable as police vehicles and <br />delivery on these cars cannot be made before August.
