The West "K" Street right-of-way between the South 7th and <br />8th Street right-of-ways <br />B. The portion of the alley in Block 1130 between lots one (1) <br />through six (6) and lots twenty-seven (27) through thirty- <br />two (32) <br />The closure has been requested by the U.S. Postal Service for <br />construction of the new La Porte Main Post Office. <br />The City Council had expressed support for the street and alley <br />closures for the new post office at its February 11, 1986 regular <br />meeting. Staff has placed the following pre -conditions to these <br />closures upon U.S.P.S.: <br />1) an;alternate access road to the house at 1205 South 7th <br />Street be constructed; <br />2) the ordinance provide for a public utility easement and <br />for emergency access through the U.S.P.S. property by City <br />emergency vehicles; and <br />3) a letter be furnished the City fire department <br />authorizing said emergency access. <br />All of these pre -conditions have been met by U.S.P.S. <br />Ordinance 1550, exempts governmental entities having the power of <br />eminent domain from payment of the application fee and for payment <br />of fair market value for street and alley right-of-ways. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Approve the proposed ordinances. <br />Availability of Funds: N/A <br />General Fund Water/Wastewater <br />Capital Improvement General Revenue Sharing <br />Other <br />Account Number: <br />Funds Available: _ YES _ NO <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />R F ok 3 <br />Robert T.
