e e AGREEMENT STATE OF TEXAS s s s KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COUNTY OF HARRIS This Agreement, made and entered into effective the 15th day of May, 1988, by and between the City of La Porte, a municipal corporation of Harris County, Texas, hereinafter referred to as "CITY", and the La Porte Independent School District, a body corporate and politic, of Harris County, Texas, hereinafter referred to as "LPISD", WIT N E SSE T H: CITY owns and operates the Sylvan Beach Convention Center. LPISD is desirous of obtaining the use of such facilities for its school functions. LPISD owns and operates various recreational facilities. CITY is desirous of obtaining the use of such facilities for its citizens. Therefore, pursuant to the authority granted by the Inter-local Cooperation Act (Article 1581[h] V.A.T.S.), and in consideration of the mutual covenants, agreements, and benefits to both parties, it is hereby agreed as follows, to-wit: 1. As part of the consideration expressed herein, CITY agrees to furnish LPISD three (3) nights use of Sylvan Beach Convention Center during each calendar year, on one (1) Wednesday, one (1) Friday, and one (1) Saturday night. LPISD shall determine which school functions shall be held at Sylvan Beach Convention Center, and shall limit such use only to legitimate school functions involving participation by its students. LPISD shall designate in writing to CITY the dates chosen. LPISD shall pay any expenses for required security, and for catering services. LPISD understands that CITY has designated an exclusive beverage caterer, and several approved food caterers, should food or beverages be served at LPISD functions at Sylvan Beach Convention Center. Should LPISD food service provider qualify with City as a food caterer, CITY agrees to waive
