Ordinance 1466-B, Page 2 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA,PORTE: <br />Section 1. Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic <br />investigation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of <br />Articles 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the Code of <br />Ordinances, City of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, Chapter 25 <br />"Traffic", Article 2, Section 25-23, is hereby amended by adding <br />a subparagraph (k), to read as follows, to -wit: <br />"Section 25-23 <br />(k) Twenty (20) Mile Per Hour Zones. <br />The following streets or portions thereof <br />shall constitute special speed zones, and it <br />shall be unlawful for any person to operate a <br />motor vehicle at a rate of speed in excess of <br />twenty (20) miles per hour in any such zone. <br />(1) Along Myrtle Creek Drive, from <br />Canyon Springs Drive to Willow <br />Creek Drive, a distance of 340 <br />feet, .06 miles. <br />Section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the <br />date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council <br />was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall <br />of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, <br />as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas <br />Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been <br />open to the public as required by law at all times during which <br />this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, <br />considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further <br />ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the <br />contents and posting thereof. <br />Section 3. If any section, sentence, phrase, clause, or any <br />part of any section, sentence, phrase, clause, of this ordinance <br />shall, for any reason, be held invalid, such invalidity shall not <br />affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it is hereby <br />declared to be the intention of this City Commission to have <br />passed each section, sentence, phrase, or clause, or part <br />
