Deve. <br />Report <br />Resolution X Ordinance <br />Exhibits: Ordinance No. 1677 <br />Letter from Harris County dated 1-11-90 <br />Map showing the design drainage areas <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />In February 1989, the City of La Porte reviewed two <br />preliminary engineering reports furnished by Harris County. <br />On February 14, 1989 the City of La Porte responded to Harris <br />County requesting revision of the drainage areas in the report <br />to correspond to the La Porte Master Drainage Plan (MDP). <br />Harris County responded in May <br />consultants could not justify <br />drainage areas under Harris County <br />In general terms the Program's <br />incorporate the following: <br />• A strip 150' either side <br />developed conditions <br />• Other watershed acres <br />Underwood Road, assuming <br />1989, informing that the <br />incorporating additional <br />Bond Program criteria. <br />stormwater design will <br />of the road, assuming fully <br />"naturally" draining to <br />existing conditions. <br />Due to past development patterns, staff was stilled concerned <br />that certain tracts of land would be "locked in" with no <br />economical drainage available to those properties. <br />The City and Harris County agreed to review these areas and <br />incorporate them into the design. The City would be <br />responsible for additional engineering fees and increased <br />construction costs. During FY 89-90 Budget Review, staff <br />suggested the use of the General Fund CIP, as a source for <br />funding this exposure. <br />The consultants have completed their review which resulted in <br />a decision to incorporate an additional 10(±) acres of land <br />into the design. Harris County has requested the City pass <br />an ordinance agreeing to the lump sum fee of $47,359.00 for <br />increased design and construction costs. <br />Design Fee $ 2,974.00 <br />Construction 44,385.00 <br />TOTAL $ 47,359.00 <br />In order for the 10± acres shown on the attached exhibit flow <br />into the Underwood Road system, on site detention will have <br />to be provided. Council should consider establishing a policy <br />for the requirements for on site detention for this area. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Approve ordinance 1677 authorizing expenditure of $47,359.00 <br />from General Fund - CIP.
