Report Resolution X Ordinance Exhibits: Ordinance No. 1677 Letter from Harris County dated 1-11-90 Map showing the design drainage areas SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION In February 1989, the City of La Porte reviewed two preliminary engineering reports furnished by Harris County. On February 14, 1989 the City of La Porte responded to Harris County requesting revision of the drainage areas in the report to correspond to the La Porte Master Drainage Plan (MDP). Harris County responded in May consultants could not justify drainage areas under Harris County In general terms the Program's incorporate the following: • A strip 150' either side developed conditions • Other watershed acres Underwood Road, assuming 1989, informing that the incorporating additional Bond Program criteria. stormwater design will of the road, assuming fully "naturally" draining to existing conditions. Due to past development patterns, staff was stilled concerned that certain tracts of land would be "locked in" with no economical drainage available to those properties. The City and Harris County agreed to review these areas and incorporate them into the design. The City would be responsible for additional engineering fees and increased construction costs. During FY 89-90 Budget Review, staff suggested the use of the General Fund CIP, as a source for funding this exposure. The consultants have completed their review which resulted in a decision to incorporate an additional 10(±) acres of land into the design. Harris County has requested the City pass an ordinance agreeing to the lump sum fee of $47,359.00 for increased design and construction costs. Design Fee $ 2,974.00 Construction 44,385.00 TOTAL $ 47,359.00 In order for the 10± acres shown on the attached exhibit flow into the Underwood Road system, on site detention will have to be provided. Council should consider establishing a policy for the requirements for on site detention for this area. Action Required by Council: Approve ordinance 1677 authorizing expenditure of $47,359.00 from General Fund - CIP.
