'Box 838
Baytown, Texas 77522
Gentl'"emen:
The City of La Porte is in receipt of your Customer Notice, advising
of th'e passage of Senate Bill 1519, "Mandated regional and local
solidwaste management plans," and establishing a fee of $.17 per
comp, icted cubic yard of waste that is landfilled, effective January
1, 1990.
:
The Q;ity of La Porte recognizes its obligation to pay this fee to
Hazelwood Enterprises, Inc., which in turn will remit the fee to the
TexadDepartment of Health.
Howe?er, rather than adjusting the prices in the contract, the City
of LaPorte requests that each invoice from Hazelwood to the City of
La Porte compute and bill this fees, as a separate line item, based
on the compacted cubic yards of waste multiplied by $.17 per
compacted cubic yard and $.la per uncompacted cubic yard. This will
avoid future confusion which might result, if this fee is now
integrated into the price, and later used in computation of cost of
living price indexing.
If Hazelwood Enterprises, Inc. is agreeable to this handling of the
matter, please sign and return one copy of this letter to the City
of LaPorte, keeping the original copy of the letter as your copy of
our agreement.
Yours very truly,
CITY OF LA PORTE
BY •• Q T.
Robert T.
