Bid recap Sealed Hids #0421 - Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Mod D SUMMARY^& RECOMMENDATION Advertised, sealed bids #F0421 for Hc)t Mix Asphaltic Cor-icrete Pavement Mod D were opened on February 4, 1991. Bid requests were mailed to five C5) suppliers with two (2) returning bids. Low bid meeting specifications for m~-~terial picked up by City personnel, was submitted by Parker LaF"arge at twenty dollars and forty-nine cents (20.49) per ton. Low bid meeting spec=ifications for material delivered to the City was submitted by Redland Stone Products Company at twenty-five dollars and fifty cents (25.50) ~:~er ton. Staff recommends award of bid for Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Mod D to Parker LaFarge, low bidder meeting specifications for picked up material. It is anticipated there will be very little need for delivered materials due to most street overlay projects being r_ontracted out as outlined in the 1990-91 Street Maintenance Operating Budget. It is further recommended a contingency contract be awarded to Redland Stone Products Company for the supply of Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Mod D. Using estimated yearly quantities, the contract would be worth ninety-six thousand, nine hundred and ninety dollars (96,990.00). Action Required by Council: Award bid for the supply of Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Mod D to Parker LaFarge, low bidder n)eeting specifications for picked up material. Award contingency contract to Redland Stone Products Company.
