Herrera Department: <br />Report X Resolution <br />Exhibits: See attached Resolution and letter <br />Ordinance <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />Texas Municipal League has requested that Texas cities join in <br />participation in a Telephone Franchise Steering Committee. The <br />present City of La Porte-Southwestern Bell Franchise was adopted <br />April 4, 1952, and has been renewed every five years since that <br />date. By its terms, it will expire January 1, 1992. <br />The attached letter from TML describes the purpose of the <br />Committee. <br />The City receives from Southwestern Bell approximately $88,000 <br />dollars yearly in franchise fee payments.
