• • <br />THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS SESSION IS TO: <br />A. Advise Council of: <br />1. Recent requests for water & sewer service outside the <br />City <br />2. Major changes in planning assumptions since 1984 (Comp. <br />Plan) <br />3. The firm capacity/availability of surface water supply <br />from the La Porte Area Water Authority <br />4. Reinform Council of Drought Contingency Flan and trigger <br />conditions <br />5. The firm wastewater treatment capacity available at La <br />Porte Treatment Facility <br />B. Establish policies that promote/protect availability of <br />service to residents of La Porte <br />AND/OR; <br />Develop new policies that evaluate requests for water & sewer <br />service on a strict individual basis <br />C. Consider developing policy statement for areas outside <br />corporate limits and within La Porte ETJ <br />D. Consider special policy/funding options that may need to be <br />incorporated to provide current or future service outside City <br />limits of La Porte <br />E. Move toward an ultimate policy decision to provide an type <br />of utility service in the ETJ North of SH225 and South of <br />Fairmont Parkway <br />Attached Exhibits: <br />* Projected water usage by year <br />* Projected wastewater flows by year <br />
