REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM AGENDA DATE REQUESTED September 23, 1991 REQUESTED BY Jeff Litchfield DEPARTMENT Director of Finance REPORT RESOLUTION X ORDINANCE EXHIBITS: Ordinance SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION The Fiscal year 1991-92 Budget for the Sylvan Beach Fund was built around changes in both the rental fee and the security charge. The changes to the rental rates, by day of the week, are as follows: Day of Week Old Rate New Rate Monday $ 250.00 $ 400.00 Tuesday 275.00 400.00 Wednesday 150.00 400.00 Thursday 400.00 450.00 Friday 800.00 850.00 Saturday 1,000.00 1,500.00 New Year's Eve 2,500.00 2,000.00 The charge for security has been established at $12.50 per hour per security officer for regular days and $18.75 per hour per security officer for holidays where the City is charged the overtime rate by the Security provider. City Council has previously reviewed these rate structure changes during the Budget Workshops. In addition, a sentence has been added which allows the use of the facility by non-profit entities with principal offices in the City of La Porte to use the facility on Wednesdays for the rental rate of $150.00. The final change calls for a Reservation and Damage Deposit of $200.00 that will be collected from the lessee upon their making a reservation for the use of the Pavilion. If the function is held without any problems (no damage to the building and the event ended when it was supposed to) the deposit will be returned to the lessee. ACTION REQUIRED BY COUNCIL: Approve Ordinance establishing new rates for the Sylvan Beach Pavilion.
