• REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM Agenda Date Requested: Requested By: John Report XX Ordinance Administration Exhibits: Ordinance 1813 Technical Services Proposal from Manning Engineering Corporation for Hillridge Bridge Rehabilitation, dated February 11, 1992 SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION This years General Fund CIP budget includes $130,000 for the rehabilitation of Hillridge Bridge. This budget number was derived from an earlier preliminary investigation conducted by Bill Manning. Because of his familiarity with the project, I asked him to submit a proposal that would include the professional engineering services necessary to prepare a final recommendation, plans and specifications, and provide support through the bidding and construction phase. Mr. Manning has prepared a proposal to offer these services for the lump sum fee of $9,250.00. The budgeted salary for the City Engineer's position (vacant) is recommended as a source of funds. If approved the necessary funds will be transferred to 001-900- 900-507 professional services. You may note that the proposal is not very lengthy and does not include the usual verbiage for services related to preliminary investigations, laboratory fees, etc. This is because the investigative work has already been completed and serves as the beginning point for the services offered here. Action Required by Council: Approve Ordinance 1813 authorizing execution of a professional services agreement for the Hillridge Bridge Rehabilitation with Manning Engineering Corporation in the amount of $9,250. Approve the budgeted salary for the City Engineer's position as the source of funds.
