Herrera, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Status Update Regarding Buildings Condemned by <br />City Council on March 23, 1992 <br />City Council, during its March 23, 1992 public hearing, was addressed by the owners of five (5) of <br />the structures being considered for demolition. These structures are as follows: <br />A. 9402 Montgomery James A. Womack, Owner <br />B. 9610 Spencer Hwy. Alva D. Bender, Trustee <br />C. 11914 N. "L" Street Danny R. White, Owner <br />D. 609 S. Utah Shirley Ekstrom, Trustee <br />E. 921 Oakgrove Colleen Woodard, Pecora, Agent <br />Council agreed to grant the owners of each of these structures an additional ninety (90) days to allow <br />them to demolish the structures themselves. The additional 90 days were to be granted subject to <br />the following restrictions: <br />1. Owner must sign a "Voluntary Consent to Demolish Form". <br />2. All back property taxes and City mowing liens must be paid in full. <br />3. June 23, 1992 shall be considered to be the final day of the 90 day period. <br />Four (4) of these five (5) structures have now been demolished by the owners. The remaining <br />structure is located at 609 South Utah. Mrs. Ekstrom, the apparent owner, on Apri11,1992 accepted <br />(by certified mail) the notice of condemnation and letter specifying the conditions for time extension. <br />To date, Mrs. Ekstrom has acted to take advantage of the additional time period, nor has she <br />commenced demolition of her building. This building is now scheduled to be demolished by the <br />City's contractor. <br />
