Recommendation letter from the Planning and Zoning Commission to the Mayor and City Council. 2. Staff Report. 3. Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU93-001. SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION Summary: Houston Shell & Concrete is seeking a Special Conditional Use Permit (#SCU93-001) for 12803 Old La Porte Road. The property is zoned Light Industrial. The purpose of the permit is to allow construction and operation of a concrete batch plant. A Conditional Use Permit is required for this business activity within LI Zones. The Planning and Zoning Commission considered this request at its January 21, 1993, public hearing and regular meeting. The Commission, by a unanimous vote of members present, has recommended City Council approval of this permit, subject to the condition noted on the letter of recommendation from Chairman Waters. Staff, in accordance with Zoning Ordinance requirements, has mailed public hearing notices to all properties located within 200 feet of the tract in question. In the case of this request, notices were mailed to three (3) property owners. As of Monday, February 15, no replies have been received. Should any replies be received prior to February 22, they will be presented to Council during the course of the public hearing. Recommendation: Staff concurs with the Planning and Zoning Commission and recommends City Council approval of Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU93-001. Action Required by Council: 1. Conduct Public Hearing. 2. Consider approval of Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU93-001.
