Ordinance <br />Summary <br />Resolution X Ordinance <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />On May 24, 1993, the City Council approved an ordinance authorizing an agreement <br />between La Porte and Harris County for the inclusion of the City of La Porte population <br />with Harris County for applying for Community Development Block Grant Funds from the <br />U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <br />On August 5, HUD notified Harris County that the agreements need to be amended to <br />include the words "to complete the funded activities" in Article V, Section (1). <br />In order to accomplish this change, additional authorization is required to allow the Mayor <br />to sign the amended agreement. <br />Recommendation <br />The staff recommends that the Council approve an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to <br />sign the amended agreement between Harris County and the City of La Porte. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Approve Ordinance 934411 Ii- authorizing the Mayor to sign an amendment to the <br />agreement between the City of La Porte and Harris County for the inclusion of the City <br />of La Porte population with Harris County for the purpose of applications to the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development for funding for the Community <br />Development Block Grant Program and the Home Investment Partnership Program. <br />Availability of Funds: N/A <br />General Fund <br />Capital Improvement <br />Other <br />Water/Wastewater <br />General Revenue Sharing <br />Account Number: Funds Available: YES NO <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />City <br />
