Letter of Agreement between the City and Angel's Self Service, Inc. <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />Summary <br />The City has advertised for and received bids for clean-up and debris removal from the <br />west one-half of Block 1446; Town of La Porte and the adjacent "Q" Street right-of-way. <br />The project was bid as "Sealed Bid #0548". This property is located adjacent to the Bay <br />Forest Golf Course, Hole #10. The debris primarily consists of trees that have been felled <br />and pushed into piles with a bulldozer. <br />Of the five (5) contractors who bid on this project, Sentell Lawn Maintenance was the low <br />bidder. Sentell's bid is in the amount of $10,500.00 with the work to be completed within <br />ten (10) days of Notice to Proceed. Clean-up of this property is part of a negotiated land <br />transaction between the City and Angel's Self Service, Inc. (see attached letter of <br />agreement). <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the contract for debris removal, Sealed Bid #0548, be awarded <br />in the amount of $10,500.00, to Sentell Lawn Maintenance. A Notice to Proceed will not <br />be issued until the City receives aright-of-entry agreement from the current property <br />owner, Angel's Self Service, Inc. Mr. Sentell intends to begin the clean-up within three <br />(3) working days of receiving the Notice to Proceed. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Approve Ordinance #93-1934 which awards a contract to Sentell Lawn Maintenance in <br />the amount of $10,500.00 for clean-up and removal of debris from Block 1446 and the <br />adjacent "Q" Street right-of-way.
