Bid requests were mailed to eight (8) area suppliers with three (3) returning bids. Burke Uniforms did not meet specifications on the police shirts. Fire uniform shirts provided by Burke did not meet specifications upon examination by the Fire Department staff. Burke did not bid EM3 shirts. R & R Uniforms did not meet specifications on the police shirts, and could not provide several of the items. Uniforms of Texas sent a letter stating they could not provide the EM3 shirts. Low bids meeting specifications, per section, are as follows: Uniforms of Texas - Section I - Police Uniforms - $50,561.45 R & R Uniforms - Section II - Fire Uniforms - $13,457.05 Section III - EM3 Uniforms - $ 1,525.10 R & R Total $14,982.15 Using estimated yearly quantities, the total cost would be $65,543.60. The total contract award is to be spread over two fiscal years.
