This <br />property is further described as being located in the 700 and <br />800 blocks of North 13th Street and the 900 through 1400 <br />blocks of Highway 146 North. (See Exhibit A) <br /> <br />Ms. Sherrie Langley and Mr. Harold Mathews, lessees, who are <br />acting on authority of Southern Pacific Transportation <br />Company, property owner. <br /> <br />Planned Unit Development with an underlying Industrial Land <br />Use Base. <br /> <br />Applicants are seeking a Special Conditional Use Permit for the <br />purpose of allowing them to fence the tract in question and use <br />it to pasture livestock. <br /> <br />Although it is not related to this request, there is an issue that <br />may be raised in public hearing. This issue is the possible <br />expansion of the Southern Pacific railyard facility. To avoid <br />possible misunderstandings, staff would like to make the <br />'following points: <br /> <br />Although the property in question is owned by <br />Southern Pacific, the company is not directly <br />involved in this request. <br /> <br />This request in no way deals with any expansion <br />or modification of the existing railyard facility. <br />The only issue at question is the use of the <br />subject tract as pasture for livestock. <br /> <br />Exhibit B illustrates zoning designations in the La <br />Porte Terrace/Southern Pacific Railyard vicinity. <br />Please note, the P.U.D. District that surrounds <br />the subdivision was created to provide the best <br />possible zoning management tool for protection <br />of the La Porte Terrace Subdivision. <br />
