After questions and comments from councilperson <br />Porter, Clarke, and Mayor Malone, Assistant city Attorney John <br />Armstrong read Ordinance 95-1645-A. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 95-1645-A - AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING THE RATES FOR RENTAL OF THE MUNICIPAL ADULT <br />SOFTBALL AND SOCCER FIELDS AT THE LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU PARK <br />COMPLEX AND THE NORTHSIDE PARK FIELD; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETING LAW; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance <br />95-1645-A as read bv the Assistant citv Attornev. Second by <br />Councilperson Sutherland. CONSIDER APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE BY <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF A PORTION OF LOT 5, BLOCK 3, SECTION <br />2, SHADY RIVER SUBDIVISION (Ord. 95-2043) - J. Joerns (Ta~led <br />6-26-95) <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera addressed Council regarding the <br />summary and recommendation for the request to authorize the <br />sale of a portion of Lot 5, Block 3, Section 2, Shady River <br />reserving a sufficient amount of property in the city's name <br />so that in the future if a development should occur on <br />property adjacent to this section the city will have access to <br />that property. The City has placed a reservation on this <br />portion to be sold so the new property owner can only use this <br />property for a residence, and no improvements can be placed on <br />it without approval from the City Council. This has been <br />accomplished through a Special Warranty Deed by the City <br />Attorney. <br />
