'1.5 r- AN ORDINM~CE CREATING A DEPARTI1ENT OF VITAL STATISTICS; APPOINTING THE CITY CLERK LOCAL REGISTRAR; AND PROVIDING THAT EACH BIRTH, DEATH, AND STILLBIRTH WITHIN THE CITY SHALL BE P~CORDED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COI~4ISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. A Department of Vital Statistics of the City of La Porte is hereby created, pursuant to the provisions of Art. 4477, Vernon's Civil Statutes. Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of La Porte is hereby designated Local Registrar of Vital Statistics, and may appoint such Deputy-Registrars as may be necessary. Section 3. The Local Registrar shall have all of the duties prescribed by Art. 4477, R.C.S., and the rules and regulations of the Texas Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, and shall collect, for the benefit of the City's General Fund, the fees prescribed by Rule 53a, Art. 4477, R.C.S., together with any amendments. Section 4. The Local Registrar shall secure a complete record of each birth, death, and stillbirth that occurs within the Corporate LL~its of the City of La Porte. Section 5.
