We covered a lot <br />of topics that impact our respective political bodies. <br /> <br />Below I have listed some of the items we discussed. <br /> <br />1) Status ofB~ Area Boulevard from Fainnont Parkway to Spencer HiSJltway. The City truly <br />is appreciative of Commissioner Fonteno for placing this item on the recent election, which <br />was passed favorably by our citizenry. It becomes very important that my City fully <br />understands what the County expects from us. As you know, we already have secured over <br />95% of the needed ROW for this extension. If the County is looking to us for additional <br />funding, I will need to know how much. I would hope the funds approved by the voters are <br />sufficient. If not, then we in La Porte will in all likelihood have to have a bond election. This <br />road project is aucial to La Porte's ability to move East Harris County citizenry around safely <br />and efficiently. <br /> <br />2) Meetini with the Commissioner for Mayor Malone and Mysell The pwpose of the meeting <br />is to bring Burt Cabanas, President of Benchmark Corporation to the meeting so he can give <br />the Commissioner a first-hand, updated report of the hotel project proposed for Sylvan <br />Beach.
