Scope of Work PHASE I-INVENTORY REVIEW / PUBLIC INPUT / NEEDS ANAL YSIS The following elements will be used in developing an assessment of the needs of the park and recreation system. 1.1 PROJECT INITIATION MEETING HALFF ASSOC. staff will arrange a meeting in La Porte with appropriate city staff. This meeting will accomplish several pre-planning objectives: . Orientation, The City of La Porte and the primary team leaders of Halff Associates will become familiar with the project team structure and organization and arrive at a complete understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all project participants. . Schedule. The project schedule will be refined and mutually agreed upon. . Information exchange. At this meeting we will discuss all documentation needs of Halff Associates. This will give the City an opportunity to provide information or to provide Halff Associates guidance in the securing of information not readily available at the time of the meeting. . Identify planning sectors - the city will be divided into planning sectors based on available demographic information and previous citywide planning efforts. Product - initial meeting with City of La Porte staff Items Provided by City of La Porte- recommend staff to attend, attend meeting, and provide data as required t~ begin planning process, 1.2 PREPARATION OF BASE MAPPING Two levels will be illustrated, to ensure that the plan is comprehensive, yet sufficiently detailed to serve as a future guide. The base mapping will be prepared in a digital form (through incorporation and enhancement of existing City of La Porte digital base mapping files). . Regional level, including all areas in the City, as well as adjacent cities. .
