• <br />City of La Porte <br />Established 1892 <br />August 17, 2001 <br />Honorable Mayor Norman Malone and City Council <br />City of La Porte <br />Dear Mayor Malone: <br />The La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission, during a regular meeting on <br />August 16, 2001, considered a Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU 01-003. <br />The request, submitted by Fairmont Park Baptist Church at 10401 Belfast, <br />seeks approval to allow recreational activities on church property. Earlier, the <br />Commission heard testimony both for and against the issuance of this SCUP <br />during the July 19, 2001 Public Hearing on this matter. <br />After careful consideration, the Planning and Zoning Commission has, by <br />unanimous vote, recommended that City Council consider approval of Special <br />Conditional Use Permit #SCU 01-003 with the following conditions in place: <br />1. Outdoor skateboard & bicycle activities will close at 8.00 P.M. each day. <br />2. Landscape buffers shall be planted between church property and adjoining <br />neighborhood per Section 106-334(a) of the Code of Ordinances. <br />3. Drainage of the grassed, open area shall be improved and maintained properly. <br />4.
