Executive Summary from GIS <br />Implementation Plan <br />Appropriation <br />Source of Funds: N/A <br />Account Number: N/A <br />Amount Budgeted: N/A <br />Amount Requested: <br />Budgeted Item: AYES __v0 <br />RECEIVE REPORT FROM GTG <br />ON CITY' S GIS IMPLEMENTATION PLAN <br />In June of 2001, City Staff sent Requests for Qualifications to several firms specializing in <br />Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Implementation. Statements of Qualifications were <br />received from four of the firms solicited. After extensive review of each firm's qualifications, <br />Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) was selected to conduct the City's GIS <br />implementation plan. <br />In September, Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with GTG, Inc. to <br />conduct needs assessment interviews and to prepare an implementation plan for the City. GTG <br />interviewed all City departments in October to determine each department's specific GIS needs <br />and delivered the final implementation plan to the City in December for Executive Staff review <br />(see Exhibit No. 1, attached). <br />At this time, Staff wishes to introduce representatives from GTG, Inc. to City Council and give <br />the opportunity for additional questions and comments from Council regarding GIS <br />Implementation. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Robert T.
