El Jardin eco-tour <br />7. jogging trails <br />8. races: 10 K, bicycle, etc <br />Organization: <br />San Jacinto Area Tourism Council, a non-profit corporation will be established to <br />administer the tourism development and marketing program. Initial funding will be <br />provided out of Hotel Occupancy Tax revenues collected by the cities of South Houston, <br />Pasadena, Deer Park,. and La Porte. The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors <br />Bureau (GHCVB) has indicated a willingness to match the total local contribution up to <br />possibly $1.50,000.00.. The Board of Directors will include 15 members with each <br />community having three representatives (which includes the GHCVB). It is anticipated <br />that the mayor of each community will appoint one member that will represent the local <br />governing entity providing funds, the second member representing an interest in the <br />tourist industry itself and a third that would understand and promote tourism for the area <br />One half of the initial board will be appointed for one year and the other half for two <br />years. There after each director will serve for two years, with one half of the Board being <br />appointed each year. The Directors will serve without compensation.
