City Council Regular Meeting and•lic Hearing -October 13, 2003 -Page 7 <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2003-98-2260-A - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE N0.98-2260, "AN ORDINANCE RENEWING THE GRANT OF ANON-EXCLUSIVE <br />FRANCHISE TO TEXAS CABLE PARTNERS, L.P., SUCCESSOR TO TELE-VUE SYSTEMS, INC.", <br />SECTION 6, "PAYMENT TO THE CITY"; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Ebow to approve Ordinance 2003-98-2260-A as presented b~Mayor <br />Malone. Second by Councilmember Griffiths. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Engelken, Mosteit, Warren, Young, Ebow, Griffiths and Malone <br />Nays: Beasley <br />Abstain: None <br />20. Council to consider approval for the City Manager to proceed with this competition. <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle gave summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve proceeding with "The Best Managed Small Cities <br />in Texas" competition as presented by Ms. Feazelle. Second by Councilmember Griffiths. The motion <br />carried. <br />Ayes: Engelken, Mosteit, Wan:en, Young, Ebow, Griffiths, Beasley and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />21. Council to consider approval of Council Meeting dates for November 10, 2003 and December 8, 2003. <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle gave summary and recommendation and answered .Council's questions. <br />Motion was made bYCouncilmember Ebow to approve the requested dates for November and December <br />Council Meeting dates aspresented by Ms. Feazelle. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />Ms. Feazelle announced the Mayor and Council Dinner scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2003, at Reliant <br />Stadium at 6:30 p.m. <br />Ms. Feazelle reminded Council of the La Porte Kick Off Rally for Red Ribbon Week scheduled for Monday, <br />October 27, 2003, at Dewalt Alternative School from 7:15 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. <br />Ms. Feazelle announced the Council Retreat is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, November 7-9, 2003. <br />Ms. Feazelle noted the exchange program with the City Manager from New Zealand was very successful. <br />Ms. Feazelle noted she received her 25-year plaque from the TCMA. <br />23. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmembers Engelken, Ebow, Malone, Warren, Griffiths, Beasley, Young and Mosteit had comments. <br />
