<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br /> <br />RECEIPT AND OPENING OF BIDS <br /> <br />The City of La Porte (herein called "Owner"), invites bids on the fonn attached hereto, all <br />blanks of which must be appropriately filled in. Bids will be received by the Owner at the <br />office of the City Secretary, until the time and date indicated within the NOTICE TO <br />BIDDERS, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The envelopes <br />containing the bids must be sealed, clearly marked: <br /> <br />"CITY OF LA PORTE <br />LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU <br />CONNECTOR CONCRETE PATHWAY" <br /> <br />and addressed to Martha Gillett, City Secretary at 604 W. Fainnont Parkway, La Porte, <br />Texas 77571. <br /> <br />The Owner may consider infonnal any bid not prepared and submitted in <br />accordance with the provisions hereof and may waive any infonnalities or reject any <br />and all bids. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the <br />opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the <br />time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid <br />within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. <br /> <br />PREPARATION OF BID <br /> <br />Each bid must be submitted on the prescribed fonn. All blank spaces for bid prices <br />must be filled in, in ink or typewritten, in both words and figures, and must be fully <br />completed and executed when submitted. <br /> <br />Each bid must be submitted, IN DUPLICATE, in a sealed ORANGE envelope <br />bearing on the outside the name of the bidder, his address, and the name of the <br />project for which the bid is submitted. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope <br />containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope, address as specified in <br />the bid fonn. <br /> <br />SUBCONTRACTS <br /> <br />The bidder is specifically advised that any person, finn, or other party to whom it is <br />proposed to award a subcontract under this contract must be acceptabl~ to the <br />Owner.
