Whenever possible, staff offers alternatives; however, in <br />some cases their proposal is not allowed and staff must advise them accordingly. <br /> <br />The Mayor has asked that we provide Council with examples where staff has spent extra time <br />helping our customers resolve an issue. Please see the following. <br /> <br />Staff continues to work with citizens dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane lke. As of <br />OS/29/09, we have (35) substantially damaged (SD) homes and (479) non-substantially <br />damaged (NSD) homes. We have worked diligently to assist residents and have received very <br />positive comments from those individuals. <br /> <br />. Worked extended hours <br /> <br />. Registered and tracked contractors <br /> <br />. Held individual meetings <br /> <br />. Performed damaged home inspections and issued applicable RSDE reports <br /> <br />. Developed specialty letters for residents and/or mortgage companies <br /> <br />. Waived applicable permit fees <br /> <br />. Met with out-of-state contractors to educate them on codes/inspections <br /> <br />. Fast tracked penuits <br />
