The City desires to construct a waterline or waterlines along Bay <br />Area Boulevard from Spencer Highway to Fairmont Parkway. No city water distribution lines are <br />located within the area. A La Porte Area Water Authority transmission line lies within a utility <br />easement adjacent to the east side of the roadway right of way. The City desires to evaluate the <br />alternatives to provide distribution water for service and fire protection for the properties fronting <br />along both sides of Bay Area Boulevard. The initial emphasis shall be to provide water along the <br />west side of Bay Area Boulevard. <br /> <br />Except for the Scope of Services, Basis of Compensation, and Schedule of Work set forth below, <br />the rights, duties, and obligations of LJA Engineering & Surveying and the City of La Porte shall be <br />as provided in the attached general services agreement which agreement is otherwise incorporated <br />herein and made a part of this assignment letter. Acceptance by the City of this assignment letter <br />shall constitute an amendment to said general services agreement. <br /> <br />The Scope of Services, Basis of Compensation, and Schedule of Work are outlined in the following <br />paragraphs: <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The scope of services can be divided into Preliminary and Design Phase, Bidding Phase, and <br />Construction Phases.
