Please find the bid tabulation that has been prepared and attached to this letter. <br /> <br />Angel Brothers Ent., Ltd., who are reputable contractors in the area, submitted the lowest total <br />bid of $876,162.60 for the full scope of work. However, the Department of Public Works has <br />decided to reduce the project scope of work. As a result, the contract for award is being <br />accompanied by Change Order No.1, which reduces the asphalt base course pavement section <br />on the full width repair streets from 8" to 6.5" in thickness and reduces the quantity of additional <br />work items. The complete description of changes can be found in Attachment "A" of Change <br />Order 1. The effective date of Change Order 1 shall be the same date that the last party fully <br />executes the contract documents. <br /> <br />Please note that the changes in the base course thickness will have little long term impacts on <br />the design life of the streets to be repaired because the cross section is comparable to design <br />pavement sections of neighboring municipalities. <br /> <br />The total amount of the contract award, including Change Order No.1 is $660,674.30. We <br />recommend award of a construction contract, with a signed Change Order No. 1 as described, <br />in the amount of $660,674.30 to Angel Brothers Ent.
