Main St. Morgan's Point, TX 77571 Dear Mr. Belgau: As you are aware, the impact of Tropical Storm Erin has drawn much attention to. drainage_. issues throughout our area. During a recent meeting, the La Porte City Council appointed a sub-committee, consisting of four members of Council, to focus on p()ssible short and long term actions to assist in alleviating some conditions that prevent our draipage systems from operating at peak design efficiency. The fIrst meeting of the drainage and flooding sub-committee was held on September 17, 2007. One of the important conclusions of that meeting was the need for inter-jurisdictional cooperation and coordination with adjacent cities, HCFCD; Precinct 2, Harris County and State !Federal Agencies in order to put into effect any meaningful long term solutions. As such, the committee has extended an invitation to you or your representative to attend future meetings so that all efforts to improve drainage in the region can be weighed and balanced with the interests and actions taken by other jurisdictions. The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for September 24, 2007, 5 PM at City Hall, 604 W. Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas 77571, in Council Chambers. We apologize for the short notice for this meeting but hope to establish a schedule for future meetings in a more timely manner.
