<br />..; <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />FILL DIRT PERMITS <br /> <br />111;formation on Fill Dirt Policies <br />and Procedures <br /> <br />1. Contact Planning Department (281-471-5020) and schedule appointment with City Engineer <br />or his designated assistant. Fill dirt pennit application can be obtained at inspections desk. <br />2. Property owner should bring at least one sketch, surveyor site plan showing all of, but not <br />limited to, the items/features listed below: <br /> <br />. Approximate layout of property. <br />. Location of existing and proposed buildings, if applicable. <br />. Location of nearest channel(s) or drainage ditch(s), including Harris County Flood <br />Control District channels. <br />. Location of any existing and all proposed swales <br />. Location of proposed fill placement, and existing and final grades. <br />. Final grades should indicate slope of fill and direction of flow for storm water runoff. <br />. Engineer will review, approve, and sign sketch after verifying that the placement and <br />grading of the proposed fill will not affect, alter, or block the natural flow of storm water <br />to adjacent properties. <br /> <br />3. After the property owner has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the intent of these <br />policies and procedures, a permit may be issued through the Inspection Division. There is no <br />fee for this permit at this time. <br /> <br />Permits will be issued for a maximum of 40 truckloads. For additional dirt placement <br />additional permits may be sought but a site visit shall be required. For significant additional <br />dirt placement, inforplation regarding the topography of the 10t(s) shall be submitted with the <br />application. Permits shall not be issued for properties that do not have an address assigned to <br />them. <br /> <br />Fill may be obtained from private contractors or developers doing construction projects in or <br />around the city. Contact them directly for fill availability and delivery. The City is not <br />responsible for providing fill dirt. <br /> <br />NOTE: Most ofthis fill is NOT topsoil and there is no guarantee as to its condition. The fill <br />is usually emptied from the dump trucks at a desired location, but not graded. Grading is up <br />to the property owner. <br /> <br />Any deposited fill dirt that is liable to hold stagnant water is a violation of section 34-128 of <br />the city's code of ordinances.
