~ G <br />LA PORTE DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE <br /> • <br />Section 1. GENERAL <br />These regulations shall govern every person, firm, asso- <br />ciation or corporation owning any tract of land within the <br />City limits of the City of La Porte and within its extra- <br />territorial jurisdiction who may hereafter subdivide or <br />engage in development as hereinafter defined any tract <br />of land or any addition to said City provided, however, <br />that the City of La Porte hereby excludes from the <br />terms, conditions and effects of this Ordinance and <br />all amendments hereto, land included within the boundaries <br />of any Industrial District or Districts within the Extra- <br />territorial Jurisdiction of the City of La Porte that <br /> • <br />may be hereafter created by the City of La Porte under <br />the terms of Article 970a and amendments thereto of the <br />Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas. <br />Section 2. DEFINITIONS <br />For the purpose of this Ordinance the following various <br />terms, phrases and words, will have the meaning ascribed <br />to them herein. When not inconsistent with the context, <br />words used in the present tense include the future; words <br />used in the singular include the plural; words used in the <br />plural include the singular; "shall" is mandatory; and <br />"may" is permissive. Any office referred to herein by title <br />will include the person employed or appointed for that <br />postition or his duly authorized deputy or representative. • <br />
