<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />September 15,2005 <br /> <br />Large Lot Rural District <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />March 3, 2005: Large Lot Committee formed final recommendations on regulations and <br />boundaries governing creation of a Large Lot District. <br /> <br />April 21, 2005: Planning and Zoning Commission held workshop on proposed regulations for <br />Large Lot District. <br /> <br />June 9, 2005: Town Hall meeting held at Lomax Elementary School Cafeteria to receive <br />citizens' comments on proposed Large Lot District. (Graphics and maps were displayed at <br />several stations throughout the cafeteria. City Staff was available at each of the locations to <br />provide information and answer questions.) <br /> <br />On July 21,2005, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a workshop for the <br />proposed Large Lot Zoning District, and discussed citizen's input gathered during the <br />Town Hall Meeting on June 9, 2005, at the Lomax Elementary School. The Commission <br />has reservations about some of the recommendations made by the Large Lot Committee. <br />The citizens also voiced their concern at the Town Hall meeting. The Commission <br />directed staff to assess and make suggestions for the following issues: <br /> <br />. Minimum lot width 100' <br />. 45' height proposed for accessory buildings <br />. No control proposed for outside equipment storage <br />. Rules for Grazing Animals <br /> <br />August 18, 2005, as directed by the Planning and Zoning Commission, staff put up <br />recommendations for the above. The following information is attached for your review: <br /> <br />. Letter from the Chairman <br />. Draft Ordinance <br /> <br />Actions available to the Commission are as follows: <br /> <br />. Recommend to Council approval for the creation of Large Lot District. <br />. Recommend to Council denial for the creation of Large Lot District. <br />.
