<br />CITY OF LAPORTE <br /> <br />ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br />AMENDED VARIANCE REQUEST <br /> <br />OWNER: LAUREL INDUSTRIES, INC. <br /> <br />This Amended Variance Request is submitted to specifically set <br />out the variances which are requested. We desire to build a <br />manufacturing building costing approximately $200,000.00 and an <br />office building costing approximately $350,000.00. After equipment <br />is added the improvements will total approximately $4,000,000.00 <br />to be added to the tax rolls. <br /> <br />1. We request a variance of the rear set back line on the west <br />side of the proposed manufacturing building (northwest corner of <br />the lot) to allow a building set back line of 5 feet. The building <br />needs to be this size and to push the building forward would defeat <br />the purpose by cutting into the drive way which is necessary for <br />transporting of goods from other ~uildings. <br /> <br />2. We request a variance of the side set back line on the <br />north side of the manufacturing building (northwest corner of the <br />lot) to allow a building set back line of 5 feet. The building <br />needs to be 140 feet long to accomplish its goal. To move the <br />building any farther to the south would place it too close to the <br />high voltage lines which go through the property. <br /> <br />3. We request a variance of the front set back line on the <br />east side of the office building (northeast corner of the lot) to <br />allow a building set back line of 30 feet 6 inches instead of 50. <br />To move the building back farther would require it to be in the <br />current truck turning area which will continue to be utilized with <br />the expansion. <br /> <br />4. We request a variance of the side set back line on the <br />north side of the office building (northeast corner of the lot) to <br />allow a building set back line of 5 feet. To move the building any <br />farther to the south would require it to be in the current truck <br />turning area which will continue to be utilized with the expansion. <br /> <br />Upon completion of the office building, we plan to move to <br />portable trailers currently being used from the premises known as <br />the locker and lunch room trailer and the office and labratory <br />trailer. <br /> <br />1 <br />
