-109- date such notice is mailed to the person, firm or the address of such person, firm or corporation as the same shall appear in the records of the City Secretary relating to the granting of such application. 11 - 700 Penalties for Violations 1. Any person, firm or corporation 'in violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not more than One Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($1,000.00). ci. Each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate 'a offense. 2. In case any building or structure erected, constructed, f"•' reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted or maintained, or any building, structure, or land is used in violation �? of the general law or the terms of this Ordinance, the City of La Porte, in addition to imposing the penalty above provided, may institute any appropriate action or proceedings in court to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, con- version, maintenance or use, to restrain, correct or abate such violation, or to prevent the occupancy of such violation, or to prevent the occupancy of such building, structure or land, to prevent the illegal act, conduct, business or use, in or about such land; and the definition of any violation of the terms of this Ordinance as a �misdemeanor, shall not preclude the City � of La Porte from revoking the civil remedies given it by law in such cases, including collection or reasonable E attorney fees and court costs, but same shall be cumula- tive of and in addition to the penalties prescribed for such violation. RIM 11'- 800 Saving Clause All rights or remedies of the City of La Porte, Texas, are i expressly saved as to any and all violations of any Zoning " Ordinance or amendments thereto,. of said City of La Porte, that have accrued at the time of the effective date of this Ordinance; and as to such accrued violation, the court shall have all the powers that existed prior to the effective date of this Ordinance; and as to such accrued violation, the court shall have all the powers that existed prior to the effective date of this Ordinance; and that all existing violations of previous zoning ordinances which would other- wise become non -conforming uses under this Ordinance but shall be considered as violations of this Ordinance in the same manner.that they were violations of prior zoning ordi- nances of said City of La Porte.
