August I, 2006

9903 N A venue P
Laporte, TX 77571

Dear Neighbor,

I am asking you to take a few moments to read this letter, give your opinion, sign, and return in the pre-paid
envelope.

I will soon go before the Zoning Board of Adjustments to request two exceptions from the Large Lot
District Ordinance. I) Less than I acre 2) Less than 90 feet

My husband, Bobby, passed away in 2004. As a result, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain the
fenced yard ( 1/2 acre) and the pasture (1.3 8 acres). Frequent care of both areas present an undo hardsh ip,
both physically and financially. As I get older, I know the task will become even harder.

I would like my daughter and son-in-law to build their dream home on the 1.38 acres. It has a separate
drive from P Street and their house would be behind mine. I would like to keep the fenced area for my
grandchildren to play. Although it alone is a chore, the children enjoy it.

Family would be close, but I could maintain my own space. I would like to grow old in the last home
Bobby and I shared. I do not want to be forced from my home because I have too much to care for. I
firmly believe my place is in my little frame house.

The spirit of the ordinance would not be broken. The exceptions will not adversely affect the value or use
of the adjacent properties. The rural character of the District will remain in tact. I would be keeping the
land in the family as Bobby and I intended. The building of their home would not harm anyone, but greatly
help me and my family.

Hopefully, it'wiII help our cause if we have written proof from our neighbors showing they approve of the
exceptions for my situation. I am not asking to change the ordinance, just consider my situation. Please
help by voting yes to the exceptions.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Regardless of your opinion, your effort is greatly
appreciated.

Sincerely,

Frankie Periou

YES V

NO J}/'/ J_____
SIGNATURE 't/~ .

11318 NORTH AVENUE P
LA PORTE, TX 77571
